WestJet today announced
the introduction of a new seat selection option, which for a small fee, will allow
guests to choose where they will be seated at the time of booking, or up to 24
hours before their flight departs. "WestJet is committed
to providing guests with new options to enhance their travel experience and meet
their wants and needs, said Bob Cummings,
WestJet Executive Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing. Guests
have told us they want to select their seats well in advance, rather than wait
to go online 24 hours before they fly or be assigned a seat at check-in. We know
that this will be very popular for families and groups who want to make sure
they can sit together, especially on long flights. Its also going to be a big
hit with guests who like to stretch their legs in the emergency exit row." The seat selection fee will be
$10 for an aisle, middle or window seat, and $15 for seats in the coveted emergency
exit rows, which have substantially more legroom. All WestJet
guests, regardless of the fare they purchased, will still be able to select
their seat at no charge when using Web check-in or Mobile check-in within 24
hours of their flight. WestJet continues to offer high value,
all-inclusive fares, providing guests the opportunity to book their travel
through the WestJet Sales Super Centre, check two pieces of luggage, watch live
seatback television and enjoy complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
all at no extra charge. WestJet goes one step further -- guaranteeing not to
overbook flights. |
